Marble is a metamorphic rock derived from limestone, composed mostly of calcite.  It is formed when the limestone is transformed by heat and pressure after being overlain by other materials. Marble is unique in that it has a slight surface translucency that gives the sculpted Marble a visual depth beyond the carved form. Most of our Marble is transformed into fireplaces and statues, but really the applications are limited only by our clients design ideas. Our Santo Tomas Marble is dark, almost black while the Dorado has a golden hue.  A very nice look for the Dorado Marble is a split face finish which is popular for a cladding application.
